... and Nobody Sees It?

How a Huge Secret has been Hidden in Plain Sight
for a Hundred Years ...

First, Hypnosis was Weird Medicine …

Realize that humans have entered trances for thousands of years.

As you’d guess, the flickering candles, chanting, repeating mantras, the whirling of dervishes, and other magical and religious phenomena open up the same human consciousness as we evoke in hypnotic trance.

And then, it reappeared as ‘Mesmerism,’ which was blended with ‘animal magnetism’ and the use of actual magnets, and like Alchemy, it was unclear what was happening. The early hypnotists actually knew about as much about hypnotism as Madam Blavatski knew about spirits on the other side.

That is, precious little.

Later, Hypnosis was a Damned Stage Trick

Remember seeing a hypnotist up on the stage, with some people sitting in chairs, eyes closed, playing invisible violins, or maybe even clucking like chickens?

Why would anybody think it was useful? It was simply absurd.

You remember … the wild-eyed evil guys in old movies that made it seem even more goofy. Like the villain of some science-fiction movie with warbly music who has invented secret ‘mind control‘ boxes and they’re secretly installed in every home. These send signals to enslave the Earthlings. Pretty silly. Right?

Actually, that has already happened.

What do Politicians, Evangelist Ministers, and Television Commercials have in Common?

You’ve noticed that Great Politicians can hold audiences spell-bound. But if you read a transcript, the words seem bland, vague, they actually say very little. Yet thousands follow the man. And whether you like a particular president or you hate him, it’s clear he knows how to spin words. Is this an accident?

It’s no accident. Great orators use special patterns of words that fascinate, that ensnare the attention, that command agreement from thousands, and the next thing you know, the great orator is in power. A man named Adolf Hitler was especially skillful, essentially hypnotizing an entire nation of honest folks into following a twisted path, so skillful, so step-by-step, that it just seemed inevitable. And later, many asked, How could this happen?

You see, those who know these secret language patterns, who know how to influence, who know how to appear irresistible … They lead. And if you’re one of those who do not know, you find yourself following. Sometimes we ask, How does this happen?

Spreading the Gospel!

Ever wonder how Gospel Preachers evoke such intense fervor? Have you listened to them, to the chanting voice, the repetition, the intensity? It’s like they can speak to the unconscious mind so compellingly, they can actually reach and instruct the powerful subconscious mind that can heal the body, and cause the deaf to hear again.

It’s Not just Hollywood Squares

Television. As it turns out, the secret mind-control devices weren’t secretly installed. We all lined up to plunk down money to buy them, and its flickering lights feed us one control message after another, hidden in pictures of the good life. Minute by minute, and minutes into hours, and hours to days, days to weeks, weeks to months, and months to years.

What wonder then, that we become programmed to fork out money? As it turns out, instead of a single evil villain, there are thousands of evil villains, which we know as big companies, and they actually queue up to share the mind control of the Earthlings,

Do you think television ‘commercial’ messages have no power?

Try this: Go stand in the soap aisle in the supermarket. Watch housewives picking up laundry soap. The contents of the no-name-brand bottle are exactly the same as the contents of the brand name they see on TV. Watch the Earthling housewives pick up the brand name bottle. Again and again. Each time, the brand name advertisers make an extra $3-$4 dollars.

Do flickering lights pay off? You bet. They pay off big.

Why Hypnosis is Invisible Even as we Wade through a World of Hypnotic Suggestions

Mind control, right in front of us. So obvious that nobody notices. It’s always been there; it arrived so insidiously that nobody marked it’s arrival.

Picture it like a big green elephant, standing in the living room. Everyone walks around it, but nobody notices … except that you are beginning to notice.

Hypnotism works. It’s all around us. A vast and amazing secret is hidden, right out in the open. Anyone who looks can see it, but nobody looks. And so we walk on, entranced, day by day.

Open your Eyes, It All Becomes Clear

I confess. It was many years before I saw the big green elephant. Once you see it, it’s not something you forget.

You see, on that particular night, I was 28 years old and living in San Francisco, when I met this cool woman named Frieda Morris, in a hot tub.

Yes, this was California.

And who was she? Frieda, I learned, wrote a popular book on Self Hypnosis. So, remembering the little bit of self-hypnosis I’d learned back in Wichita Falls, I just realized I must get that book. And it was easy to learn how to self-hypnotize myself.

For example, I learned how to relax, I could make my own arm float into the air, or stick my eyelids shut, and that was really cool, man. Far out.

But when I tried using it to stop smoking, mostly I just made myself want to smoke all the more!

Why Doesn’t Hypnotism Work Every Time?

You’ve seen it. Sometimes miracles happen in revivals. Sometimes miracle cures appear in the hypnotherapist’s office. Sometimes the blind can suddenly see, the lame can walk, and the deaf can hear.

The deal is that sometimes people can stop smoking, quick and easy. Sometimes they find it effortless to lose weight, become self-confident, overcome their fear of spiders, dogs, or public speaking, and move rapidly forward in life.

But sometimes not.

So why doesn’t it work … all the time?
